1 Point Perspective
For the one-point perspective drawing, I decided to go with a cult themed room. I started by creating the outline of the room with the lines. To do this I used this grid I found online. I then used The line tool to follow those lines, and I added in the basics I thought the room should have. This included wall lamps, a Pentagram with candles at each point in the middle, and a cross on the back wall. I thought the room seemed a bit basic and i wanted to work on drawing the lines by hand, and so i used this as a mock up for how the final would look, and started again.
This is the final product. as you can see it kept the basic design I had before, but I sketched in the room’s borders, and I also turned the cross into two wooden planks nailed together which helps to give it a more make-shift and run-down abandoned feel. along with this, I altered the pentagram to look better in the perspective and used thinner lines to make it look a lot nicer than it did with the thick lines.
The wall torches were also redesigned to look older and more fitting for a run-down old building, I used a reference I found on google to achieve this. The placements of these were also moved down to fit the perspective more, and they were separated more to allow some details to be between them, such as the boarded-up window and the tally chart and knifes stuck in the wall.
In the final drawing i also added some more items to add to the cult aesthetic, such as the open book on the floor, notes on the walls, a skull, knifes and a cobweb. The ceiling was designed to look old too which is why they are designed to be planks of wood with a light in with no lightshade. It helps make the room feel old, abandoned and ominous.
Overall I’m extremely happy with the result I made. I think the perspective looks very good and I enjoyed adding more detail to the environment and drawing new things to get more used to doing art. I think I could go back eventually and add colour and made the lines smoother, but I am already very happy with the way it turned out.
